Classroom Resources TE Manual
With content developed by science educators, the PTEI Outreach Manual in Tissue Engineering contains problem-based activities for middle- and high-school students and instructional/assessment information for teachers.
The manual employs an inquiry-based learning model and encompasses Pennsylvania State Science and Technology Standards, National Science Education Standards and National Education Technology Standards. Consultative advice in the development of the manual was provided by the University of Pittsburgh Learning Research and Development Center.

Most of the activities are laboratory-based, emphasizing inquiry learning and science process skills, and strongly reflect and adhere to suggested NSES and NSTA standards. The exercises are flexible enough to be adapted for students of middle or senior high school, and may even serve as a source of ideas for student independent research. Teachers are encouraged to utilize or modify the exercises and to take advantage of the educational programs and website information provided by PTEI.
